EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Housing Authority of Versailles, Kentucky is seeking an experienced individual to serve as the chief executive and who will be responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and strategic direction of the agency. Operating under the policy guidance and oversight of the Board of Commissioners, the Executive Director will ensure that all Housing Authority programs are administered in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, including regulations and requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The Executive Director will provide professional leadership to staff, manage the daily operations, financial and physical assets, oversee HUD-funded housing programs, and represent the Housing Authority to residents, government officials, community partners, and the public.

We Are Seeking a Highly Skilled Professional Who Has:
- Thorough knowledge of HUD regulations, public housing operations, and federal housing programs.
- Strong understanding of public-sector governance and board-executive relationships.
- Demonstrated ability in financial management, budgeting, and public administration.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage complex organizations, multiple programs, and diverse stakeholders.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, finance, urban planning, housing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5–10 years of progressively responsible management experience, preferably in public housing, government, or a related public-sector environment.
- Executive-level experience working with a governing board strongly preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Kentucky driver’s license.
- HUD or housing-related professional certifications (e.g., PHM, HCV, or similar) preferred not required
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with regular visits to Housing Authority properties.
- Attendance at evening Board meetings and community meetings required.
- Occasional travel for training, conferences, and HUD meetings.
